An integral view of the dike
This initiative was awarded โฌ10,000 in DigiShape seed money at the DigiShape Day on 15 October. Read the news item
In this project, we want to explore the added value of a (detailed) digital twin for:
- the management and maintenance of dikes;
- optimising the emergency organisation.
The brainstorming session at the DigiShape Day on 15 October provided valuable input: how do you build a digital twin in a way that other parties can easily join? And how can you make the model architecture in such a way that it can be widely used and also applied by other asset owners/dike managers in their management areas?
In the coming period, a joint brainstorming and kick-off with HHNK and Deltares will follow to further shape the Plan of Action.
Project Goals
- Creating the added value of soil research and putting the data in order by means of a digital twin of a dike in the management area of the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Board.
- Providing insight into geotechnical parameters and being able to implement them directly in dike strength calculations.
- Being able to order the large amounts of data properly and unlock the dike in one integral 3D model.
Participating parties
BZIM, HHNK and Deltares, other parties are welcome to join.
